Op zaterdagmiddag 12 september rijdt er gratis een treintje langs de belangrijkste locaties van onze rechtsstaat. Van de Tweede en Eerste Kamer tot de Hoge Raad der Nederlanden en de Raad van State. Ontdek onderweg waar onze democratie vorm krijgt. Beleef live muziek aan boord en gegarandeerd een goed gesprek of stof tot nadenken.

- Prinsjesfestival aan de Hofvijver, Informatiecentrum Binnenhof Renovatie, Raad voor de rechtspraak en Nationale Ombudsman
- Raad van State en Algemene Rekenkamer
- Eerste Kamer der Staten-Generaal
- Hoge Raad der Nederlanden en Kabinet van de Koning
- Tweede Kamer, Landsadvocaat (bij Pels Rijcken), ProDemos Studio’s (in New Babylon) en Centraal Station

De eerste trein vertrekt om 11:30 uur vanaf de Grote Markt, Spuizijde en de laatste trein vertrekt daar om 16:30 uur daartussen vertrekt de trein daar ieder heel en half uur
Stap aan boord van de democratietrein en reis langs de instituties die samen onze rechtsstaat vormen. Bij de Tweede Kamer bekijk je de blauwe Kamerzetels en ga je in gesprek met Kamerleden. Bij de Eerste Kamer loop je door de eeuwenoude zalen van Huis Huguetan. De Raad van State, Raad voor de rechtspraak en de Hoge Raad laten je meekijken achter de schermen van rechtspraak en advies. Bij de Landsadvocaat maak je de finale van de pleitwedstrijden mee, en bij de Nationale ombudsman schuif je aan de keukentafel voor een eerlijk gesprek over wat er misgaat tussen burger en overheid. Ook de Algemene Rekenkamer, het Kabinet van de Koning, en ProDemos doen mee.
Elke halte laat een ander stukje van de democratie zien, en samen vormen ze het spoor waarover onze rechtsstaat rijdt. Precies het gesprek dat we tijdens Prinsjesfestival willen voeren: democratie is van ons allemaal. Praat mee. Denk mee. Doe mee.
Join the Democracy Train
On Saturday afternoon, September 12, a free train will take you along the most important locations of our constitutional democracy. From the House of Representatives and the Senate to the Supreme Court of the Netherlands and the Council of State. Discover along the way where our democracy takes shape. Enjoy live music on board and be guaranteed an inspiring conversation or something to reflect on.

On Saturday, September 12, you will find information about the departure times on the stop signs.
The first train departs at 11:30 AM from Grote Markt (Spui side), and the final train departs from there at 4:30 PM. In between, the train leaves every hour and half hour.
Step aboard the Democracy Train and travel along the institutions that together form our constitutional democracy. At the House of Representatives, you can see the blue parliamentary seats and talk with Members of Parliament. At the Senate, you can walk through the centuries-old rooms of Huis Huguetan. The Council of State, Council for the Judiciary, and Supreme Court offer a behind-the-scenes look at justice and legal advice. At the State Advocate’s office, you can experience the final round of the legal debate competition, while at the National Ombudsman you can sit down at the kitchen table for an honest conversation about what goes wrong between citizens and the government. The Court of Audit, Cabinet of the King, and ProDemos will also take part.
Each stop reveals a different part of democracy, and together they form the track on which our constitutional democracy travels. This is exactly the conversation we want to have during Prinsjesfestival: democracy belongs to all of us. Join the conversation. Share your ideas. Take action.
